The AITI Kenya program ran in two parts from June 21st through July 30th at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya. The first section, from June 21st through July 2nd, consisted of an intermediate general Java course meant to enable students to take part in the more advanced mobile technology lectures in the second section. Students were taught intermediate Java features including complete Java labs that facilitate mastery of the material. The second section featured advanced mobile technology curricula and a heavy emphasis on entrepreneurship and forming startups. Participation in the program was the most selective in the history of AITI, with over 500 students from all over Kenya applying for the 30 positions by sitting through a rigorous exam.
